Armed Warfare

Space combat is an alternative gameplay experience to the primary game of storytelling, questing, and ground-based combat. In space combat, you fly your personal ship to various “hot spots” on your galaxy map. From there, you will blast your way through asteroid fields, enemy fighters, frigates, destroyers, and a variety of other obstacles that will evoke memories of some of the great Star Wars™ space battles.

IGN has an interesting post about MMO’s on E3 2010.

This isn’t meant to be an exhaustive list of MMOs at E3, but instead an index you can use to let you browse through games in the genre, direct you to new information, and maybe even highlight some cool titles you didn’t know of or hadn’t heard about in a while.

We have 4 new in-game videos showing player ships, bounty hunter armour, trooper and smuggler quest and bounty hunter and imperial agent combat. The 5th video is what Star Wars: The Old Republic showed at EA Press Conference in E3. This is very good new material people!

Eurogamer for a new video. Doesn’t have any new footage but it did have a little mention about the lightsabers actually hitting each other and that you will be able to see see where the laser bolts are actually going. This would presumably mean good things for the combat. I hate games where you hit a guy but it doesn’t look like you really hit them as it just seems like your just hitting air and the guy loses health and eventually dies.
